Landscape Gardener
A Landscape Gardener works in the Amenity Horticulture (or Lifestyle Horticulture) industry which is made up of a broad cross section of people in age, background and experience and offers a multitude of career opportunities. Landscape Gardeners complete a qualification in Horticulture, specialising in Landscape, and may design, construct, renovate and / or maintain outdoor spaces that include public and private spaces, commercial and domestic.
Landscape projects can range in scale from the very small to the very large and can include soft landscape works such a planting, and turf installation and hard construction works such as paving, decking, water features and retaining walls.

AGRIFOOD SKILLS AUSTRALIA
AgriFood Skills Australia is an independent not-for-profit company with an industry representative Board. It is one of eleven Industry Skills Councils established by the Australian Government to support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of quality training and workforce products and services, including training packages.
AgriFood’s role was given greater focus in 2007-08 with the release of the Australian Government’s Skilling Australia for the future initiative. This introduced a Productivity Places Program that funds for 711,000 new training places over five years.
AgriFood’s is resourced principally by the Australian Government to:
use industry intelligence to advise business and government on workforce development and skill needs
actively support the development and implementation of quality skills training arrangements and related services
provide independent skills and training advice to businesses, including matching identified skills needs with appropriate training solutions
promote the benefits of skills development and training to industry enterprises, employers and employees.
